The owners Ashley and Louise Bryan and their children will be living in the adjacent farmhouse, also connected to the heat pump system.
With land available for heat collecting pipework next to the farm house, a ground source heat pump system was the obvious choice. Connected to underfloor heating throughout the building, the system works well. Louise is very happy with the result “the heating is just perfect”, she said, “a very pleasant environment at just the right temperature all the time, and loads of hot water”.
With panoramic views, Benty Grange is in an exposed location and Ashley was very concerned about the possible running costs of alternative heating systems. Ashley explained, “a ground source heating system seemed to be the right choice for us, easy to control and ideal for connection to the under-floor heating”.
Ashley and Louise qualify for Commercial RHI (Renewable Heating Incentive) payments which will offset the installation cost of this very efficient heating system.
