We’re delighted to share some incredible news. Last month, our team at IMS Heat Pumps took home Heat Pump Project of the Year at the H&V News Awards 2025. It’s one of the most respected industry awards in renewable heating, and to hear our name called in a room filled with leaders from across the UK was a moment we won’t forget.

Why this award means so much to us

Our winning project, Stillwaters, is a perfect example of what we love about this industry: taking a complex challenge and turning it into a beautifully efficient, environmentally sensitive heating solution. Stillwaters is located in Yorkshire, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so our design needed to work in harmony with its surroundings.

Instead of relying on boreholes, we used a Nuenta Energy Blade to extract heat from an underground mine-water flow. It allowed us to keep the visual and environmental impact incredibly low. When we paired this with a NIBE S1155 heat pump and low-temperature underfloor heating, the system delivered a remarkable SCOP of 6.2. Surpassing expectations like that is always satisfying, but doing so on a project of this complexity made the achievement even more special.

What the judges said

The judges described Stillwaters as:

“An outstanding and forward-thinking heat pump solution demonstrating high innovation and sustainability. Strong design tailored to UK conditions.”

Hearing that feedback from a panel of industry experts was a huge boost for the whole team.

Our Managing Director summed up the moment perfectly:

“I’m delighted that Stillwaters has been recognised as Heat Pump Project of the Year. This project highlights what our team does best: solving complex challenges with ingenuity, respect for the environment, and a deep commitment to quality. From the underground mine-water energy source to the elegantly integrated heat pump system, every element reflects collaborative effort. This award belongs to everyone involved, and it energises our mission to deliver low-carbon heating solutions that raise the bar for our industry.”

What’s next

This award is a celebration, but it’s also a motivator. It strengthens our belief that heat pumps can deliver extraordinary results when designed thoughtfully and installed with precision. We’re already channelling that momentum into the projects ahead.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported us, collaborated with us, and trusted us with their homes and buildings. We can’t wait to share what we’re working on next.
